I am an Accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist with additional training in attachment and trauma. Having spent several years working as a primary school teacher, and as a telephone counsellor at NSPCC’s Childline, I have always had a passion to support children’s emotional and behavioural needs. Play therapy is a very child friendly and effective way of achieving this.
Working as a school based play therapist, I offer both individual and group work. I consult regularly with teachers and parents and can provide inset training to school staff. In addition, I am able to work directly with parents as a Licenced Practioner in Parent-Child Attachment play and also offer Life Story work for children who are in foster care or who have been adopted.
I have a postgraduate diploma in Play Therapy (from Leeds Beckett University and PTUK) and am Level Two trained in DDP (Dyadic Developmental Practice: Psychotherapy and Parenting). I hold an enhanced DBS, have personal liability insurance and receive regular clinical supervision. I have up to date training in Safeguarding and Child Protection and I am listed on the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
